Tutoring Club tutors care about students and their success in school. They love teaching and are passionate about learning; are energetic and enthusiastic, highly skilled and motivated, professional and outgoing, patient and creative, and dependable and versatile; and have great communication skills and a genuine appreciation for working with children and young adults. Families have come to know Tutoring Club as the place where their eager students want to come because our tutors are warm, caring and fun, and help their students succeed!

Our standard hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 2:30 pm to 8:30 pm and Saturdays from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. There is a possibility for Sundays upon request.

The opportunity is highly flexible, and we can work with your schedule. This job is a great fit for a college student taking courses, graduate students, pre-med students, retired teachers, university professors, and professionals seeking additional income. Tutoring Responsibilities

  • Instruct students in subjects with a 3-to-1 student-teacher ratio
  • Keep detailed records of tutoring sessions
  • Tracks and analyzes student progress
  • Collaborates with the onsite Director to meet academic goals of the students

  • Clear and concise communication
  • Actively listens and regularly confirms comprehension
  • Provides students with feedback in a manner that builds confidence
  • Engages students to get involved and succeed
  • Driven by results and enjoys watching students flourish
  • Understands group dynamics and demonstrates leadership during the tutoring session
  • Organizes and manages multiple individualized lessons

Qualifications

  • An intelligent and highly dynamic undergraduate or graduate student
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher is preferred but not required
  • Above average SAT or ACT scores is preferred
  • SAT Subject testing knowledge is a plus
  • AP coursework in at least one or more subjects is preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills is required
  • Highly motivated and very dependable is a must
  • Patience and care towards a diverse student population
  • No teacher certification required
