Sharon Goodwin was born and raised in Brazoria County. She has a degree in Chemistry and worked in the chemical industry for over 16 years as a Chemist, Technical Chemical Buyer, and Technical Service Manager for Aircraft Deicing. She has always had a strong desire to see the younger generations achieve their highest educational potential. Her passion for helping children succeed led her to leave the chemical industry and begin a new career as an educator. In 2005, she had an opportunity to open her education franchise, Tutoring Club of Pearland, and has since helped thousands of students grow into their full potential. Tutoring Club of Pearland is celebrating over 17 years in the Pearland/Alvin community.
She served several terms as a member of the Board of Directors for: Pearland Chamber of Commerce, Lion’s Club, Northern Brazoria County Education Alliance that created Turner High School, The Exchange Club of Pearland, Adult Reading Center, and the founding board member of Pearland Education Foundation. Tutoring Club of Pearland has been recognized as the Best Tutoring Company in Pearland/Friendswood for 5 consecutive years, Alvin ISD Community Partner award, and Best Tutoring Company in Pearland for 3 consecutive years.
Sharon is also committed to giving back to the community, and has worked as a volunteer for many organizations that serve children and adults alike, including S.T.E.P., Junior Achievement, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, D.A.R.E., Child Advocacy programs, and Rotary.
Sharon believes, “The world is changing before our eyes, and with the increasing competitiveness of the global market it is vital for younger generations to have a strong foundation in math, science, reading, and writing.” When students enroll at the Tutoring Club of Pearland, they are taking the first step toward building that foundation and gaining the confidence they need to succeed.
