We are conveniently located on El Camino Real in the same shopping center as the Craftsman Tavern, the closest cross street Via Montoro and Mountain Vista Drive. Our friendly tutors and positive atmosphere are the perfect choice for helping students thrive academically and gain self-confidence. Parents and students have quickly grown to appreciate Tutoring Club of Encinitas warm, fun and nurturing environment, and they often commend us on our flexibility, customer-focus and results.
When we hear that a child has moved up from C's to A's, or that reading has become a joy instead of a chore, or that a student is no longer receiving F's, or a high school junior raised his SAT score 300 points after taking our individualized course, we know that Tutoring Club is bringing value to the community. All of us at Tutoring Club of Encinitas are proud of the students we’ve helped since opening our doors in 2006 and are proud to be a part of this community.
WHO COMES TO TUTORING CLUB OF ENCINITAS? Students from schools all around the Carlsbad/Rancho Sants Fe area have found success, and fun, at Tutoring Club.

He is a proud father of five and is originally from Bell (Los Angeles), CA. He began his career in Education as a tutor and after school program director, which is where he realized he could make a significant difference through mentoring students. Mario takes pride in helping kids achieve their goals in whatever they are pursuing. His long lasting relationships in the San Diego/Los Angeles community, make him a huge asset to Tutoring Club. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Brigham Young University-Idaho, and continues his education in order to make sure he is on top of new educational trends. Kathryn Bottenberg has been the Assistant Director at the Encinitas Tutoring Club since 2016. She has six years’ experience in education for both college-level mathematics and K-12 multiple subjects. Kathryn was born and raised in Northern San Diego County where she loves being able to go on hikes and to the beach all year long. She Graduated from Humboldt State University in 2013 with a Major in Mathematics Education and since 2014 she has been working for the Tutoring Club. Her passion is education and getting kids excited about learning. Kathryn enjoys and understands the common core curriculum but always mixes in a bit of traditional math to blend and balance new and old ways of thinking. She is currently working towards getting her single subject credential at California State University to become a math teacher in local high schools. Her favorite quote is from Albert Einstein, “Education is not the learning of facts, but teaching the mind to think.”
Daisey is a current student at California State University San Marcos striving for a degree in Spanish with a minor in ethnic studies. She was raised in Orange County, California loving arts and crafts. She has been apart of many educational programs and has gained experience through a variety of students such as first-generation college students, tutoring foster children and teaching Lego Robotics courses to elementary and middle school students. Her goal as a tutor is to be able to present material though visual learning in order to understand the material better and also to have the student interact with the concepts that need to be studied.
Erick has been a tutor at the Encinitas Tutoring Club since January, 2015. Erick grew up in Oceanside and enjoys surfing, exercising, and being outside. He breathes enthusiasm into subjects ranging from reading to calculus, in order to engage students in subjects they would otherwise find boring. He invokes students to come to an understanding on their own, as true understanding is the root of learning.
He is a 4th year at Cal State San Marcos pursuing an Applied Physics degree. His career goal is to become a CEO of his own research facility in which professionals and students alike have the resources to discover the unknown.
Kai is currently studying Chemistry at the California State University San Marcos. Kai was born in Yokosuka, Japan to a military family and has lived across the United States as a result. Kai debated on a Speech and Debate Team for four years and was voted the National Champion in Team Policy Debate Speaking out of 240+ handpicked students from across the United States. Upon graduating, he became the head coach of the debate team on which he debated where he found his passion for teaching. He enjoys all sorts of education including math, English, and foreign language.
