Our Staff:Sarah Searing
Director Sarah joined Tutoring Club in 2009 as an instructor in all levels of math, including SAT & ACT Test Prep. For the past two school years, she has also been the Associate Director of our Stamford center, handling day-to-day operations. Sarah earned a degree in Secondary Education - Mathematics and is certified to teach grades 7-12 in Connecticut and New York State. While in college, Sarah tutored for AVID and other after-school programs in local school districts. Her passion for education and ability to connect with students of all ages provides her with the tools needed to help each and every students reach their educational goals. Maria Markus
Owner & Director Maria is the owner and director of Tutoring Club of Ridgefield & Stamford, CT. As part of a national organization, Maria delivers the very best curriculum for students and takes an interest in every child she meets. Being a local owner allows her to individualize the lessons for each student, to be readily available to parents and students, and to contribute directly to each student’s success. Maria monitors each student’s progress every step of the way, and hires professional, caring and accomplished instructors who share her passion. Maria received her degree from Academy of Fine Chemical Technology in Moscow, Russia. Maria worked as the in-house math and science tutor at Ridgefield High School. She has always had a passion for helping people overcome their obstacles and achieve their best. Throughout the years, she has motivated students, friends, family members and associates of all ages to do so and feels no greater reward than helping others realize their goals. Nicole Morgado
Tutor A certified teacher in both New York State and Connecticut, Nicole is a jack of all trades. With a master’s degree in Elementary education, Nicole has the skills necessary to help her students master Reading, Writing, and Math concepts. Nicole has ample experience both teaching and tutoring according to the Everyday Math model used in Stamford Public Schools and surrounding districts. Along with Elementary aged students, she enjoys working with Middle and High School students in Math, Science, and general homework help. Her knowledge of all subject matter combined with her ability to adapt content to meet the needs of each individual student allows her to help each student succeed. Brittany Rich
Tutor Originally from Stamford, Brittany joined Tutoring Club as a tutor of all levels of Reading, Writing, and English, including SAT/ACT preparation. Brittany’s interests include creative writing, theatre, dance, and music. A recent graduate of Manhattanville College, Brittany earned a degree in English Education and obtained Connecticut certification for Grades 7-12. For the past five years Brittany has consistently been involved in the education of local adolescents; from volunteering at the writing center at New Rochelle High School and tutoring second grade reading students with IEP’s to student teaching at Trinity Catholic Middle School, she’s done it all. Tutor Sarah is our resident certified Spanish tutor. She is in her sixth year of teaching at Bedford Middle School in the Westport School District, but is a master of all levels of the language. She has spent ample time in Spain, studying both the language and culture. While at the University of Rhode Island, Sarah was the VP of Recruitment for her sorority and a member of two honor societies; Phi Eta Sigma and Kappa Delta Pi International. Sarah has the ability to help students of all ages become confident in their ability to succeed. |
