Welcome To Tutoring Club

Creating Confident Learners For Life

Who We Are

Hi, and welcome to Tutoring Club of McLean / N. Arlington / Falls Church! Since 2010, we have been passionately serving students of all academic abilities Pre-K through College from schools throughout McLean, Arlington, Falls Church, and neighboring communities around the DMV. Our award-winning TC curriculum provides the resources and opportunity for every student to become a confident, self-motivated learner for life.

What We Do

We teach students how to learn.

At Tutoring Club of McLean, we believe that educators are mentors. Our team works closely with students to get to know them on a personal level because we know that there is much more to academic performance than what happens in the classroom. Individualized support is key, which is why we create a customized game plan to cultivate strong study skills and encourage independent learning. We provide tutoring year-round in all levels of math, sciences, reading, writing, history, languages, study skills, SAT/ACT/ISEE/SSAT/HSPT test prep, and more, as well as guidance in navigating the college applications process. We work closely with our students to monitor their grades via their school’s online grade platforms to help cultivate academic skills for long-term success.

Why We Do It

We are invested in each student’s success.

For us, tutoring is personal. We are deeply committed to long-term academic success that builds lasting confidence and brings out the best in every student. When we hear that a child has moved up from C’s to A’s, or that reading has become a joy instead of a chore, or that a student is no longer receiving F’s, or a high school junior raised their SAT score 300 points after taking our individualized course, we know that our services are changing lives. All of us at Tutoring Club of McLean are proud of the many students who have passed through our center and who we have helped achieve their goals, and we are proud to be a part of this community.

What Makes Us a Great Choice

We are a one-stop solution.

Our award-winning approach gives us the ability and expertise to assist students of all ages and abilities. From executive functioning skills to math and reading basics to AP Physics and beyond, we can provide your student with the dedicated support that they need. Parents and students alike have quickly grown to appreciate Tutoring Club of McLean’s warm, engaging, and nurturing environment, and often commend us on our flexibility, passion, and results.

Give us a call today and put your student on the path to a brighter future!

Meet Our Team

Driven To Help Your Student Succeed

Michelle Scott

Owner / Director

Michelle is the Owner and Director of Tutoring Club of McLean-and affectionately known around the center as the OG Michelle. A Southern California native, she earned her degree from California State University, Long Beach and moved to Northern Virginia where she eventually brought Tutoring Club to the DC metro area. Blending national curriculum excellence with a deeply personalized, community-rooted approach to student growth, Michelle takes a personal interest in each child she meets.

With nearly two decades of experience in education leadership, Michelle continues to lead with vision, heart, and high standards-mentoring her leadership and education team, guiding center strategy, and ensuring every student and family receives the care and customization they deserve. Collectively, the TCM team has succeeded in providing an environment where children succeed and where learning is fun.

Michelle has always had a passion for helping people overcome their obstacles and achieve their best. Throughout the years, she has motivated students, friends, family members, and associates of all ages to do so and feels no greater reward than helping others realize their goals. She is a strong believer in strengthening her community and giving back, and she believes we can all make a difference in the world in which we live.

“I have always wanted to build a business that strengthened my community, ever since I wrote my first business plan when I was in the fourth grade,” she says. That original plan has been preserved over the years and now hangs, framed, in the Tutoring Club’s office-a daily reminder of the mission and values that still guide her work today.

He is currently pursuing his graduate degree at University of Maryland Baltimore County Graduate School. Ms. Michelle

Her curiosity and love of learning have led her through an impressive range of scientific adventures-from assisting in a microbiology lab, to operating a camera aboard NASA’s Perseverance rover, to testing products for RF emission compliance. She rediscovered her passion for education while serving as a teaching assistant in the University of Washington’s Department of Physics, where she loved making science accessible and exciting for students. Now a tutor at our center (and affectionately known as “the other Michelle”-though she shares a SoCal science connection with our founder!), she brings that same spark to every session. Her favorite place she’s lived is San Diego-coincidentally, also the OG Michelle’s hometown-and outside of tutoring, she enjoys walking, snapping amateur landscape photos, and trying out new recipes.

Mr. Writesh

Tutor

Writesh grew up in Arlington, VA, where he graduated from Yorktown High School. Over the past eight years, Writesh has worked as a math tutor. Writesh earned his Associates in Computer Science from NOVA and is currently enrolled at George Mason University working towards his Bachelors in Computer Science. When Writesh is not at work or at school, he loves playing Dungeons and Dragons, reading fantasy novels, or watching and sometimes even performing stand up comedy.
